The dynamicWatch Companion for Android enhances the functionality of your Garmin watch by allowing you to synchronize routes and settings directly to your device. This feature proves invaluable during activities such as backcountry hikes, ultra-marathons, or long-distance cycling, where Internet access may be limited.

The dwMap Connect IQ app, compatible with Garmin GPS watches, facilitates the exploration of new routes while engaging in running, biking, or hiking. The app typically downloads routes from the dynamicWatch website; thus, the Companion app is not strictly necessary. However, its real value becomes apparent when users wish to modify routes on their watch in offline scenarios. The Companion app enables this flexibility, allowing users to take dynamicWatch routes offline and alter them at any time. Upon launching the app, all changes sync to your phone, ensuring your routes remain accessible even without an Internet connection.

Additionally, users can import GPX route files from their phone or imported from other mapping applications and seamlessly send them to the dwMap on their watch. The app also offers options to adjust various dwMap settings, such as activity type, in real time and search for new destinations or create "Quick Routes" based on the user's current location. Premium users have the added benefit of browsing Strava and Ride with GPS routes, as well as accessing their dynamicWatch Collections directly within the app for convenient transfer to dwMap on their watches.
